“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. ...[it shall be] a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; [they are] the firstfruits unto the LORD.” [Lev. 23:9-11, 14-17
The harvest spoken of here in the book Leviticus had significance beyond just agriculture. Throughout the scriptures it is also used metaphorically in relation to the “people” harvest at the end of the world. In His parable of the “wheat and the tares” Christ stated, “Let both grow together until the harvest...” [Matt. 13:24-30, 36-43; compare Jer. 8:20; Amos 3:9-15; Rev. 14:6-17] This comes in the time of the Judgement and the opening of the book sealed with Seven Seals. [Isa. 28:17; Rev. 4-5ff; 10] It transcends church denominations and religions, separating the true from the false. [Matt. 7:21-23; Rev. 22:10-11] The Revelations show three groups of the saved from those “living” at the time of this. There is the “wave sheaf” the first of the first fruits picked from the field and offered raw. The second is the “wave loaves”. They are prepared as “bread” baked with “leaven”. These are the “first-fruits” ripened from the “latter rain” of the Seven Seals message. [Rev. 10; Deut. 32:1-4; Isa. 55:1-4; John 3:3, 5-6ff] The third group contain the rest of the harvest. The 1993 Waco event was the “wave sheaf” offering. They are the ones shown slain under the altar at the opening of the 5th Seal. [Rev. 6:9-11; Dan. 8:9-11, 23-25; 11:31-35, etc] It was also said about them, “The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come]. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, [each one] walking [in] his uprightness.” [Isa. 57:1-2; compare 26:19-21] There was the reference to the 50 days following the “seven Sabbaths”. [Lev. 23:15-16] On the 51st day of the Waco Siege the “wave sheaf” offering ended. The focus then shifts to the second group, the “wave loaves” (144,000). They are sealed in the period after Waco leading up to the opening of the 6th Seal. [Rev. 6:12-17; 7:1-8] They shepherd the Great Multitude of all nations, people and tongues (the rest of the harvest) who are saved through the time of trouble. [Rev. 6:9-11; 7:1-8, 9-17] As with the birthing of a child this can get a bit messy in its workings but it all comes together perfectly in the end. If you didn’t make it in any of these groups what is left is the wicked that run and hide at the opening of the 6th Seal. [Rev. 6:12-17; Dan. 7:9-14]
